Hi!

I'm Akshay Dadhwal, a full stack software developer. I like to work with small teams and develop great software.👨‍💻

I also play a lot of video games. Shoot me an email!

Background

I am currently a senior Computer Science major at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). During my time here, I have had the pleasure of working with small startups by providing them with dynamic solutions to reach their desired markets quickly using web and mobile technologies. Some of these companies include Celeber, ScrapApp, and Unifers. Apart from that, I have also enjoyed developing with Terrapin Hackers, my school's hacking club, and attending various hackathons both at UMD and other schools.

As a full-stack developer, my goal is to use my broad technical knowledge coupled with my entrepreneurial experience to provide unique insight into developing solutions both efficiently and quickly. Aside from that, I continue to challenge myself as a software engineer, raising the bar for standards with each product I develop.

Development aside, in my free time you can often find me playing soccer either with my intramural team or at pickup games at Street Soccer Club meetings. I am also passionate about gaming and game development. Currently, my favorite games are Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), Divinity: Original Sin 2, and DOTA 2.

I was part of a team of interns tasked with designing and developing the first version of the Owt party app. This was a challenging project as we had to make our app stand out among other event apps that cater to college students.
I also designed the two factor authentication system for the app and was responsible for integrating it with the Firebase authentication flow. We utilized weekly sprints in an Agile software development model to speed up our development.
